Here are the step-by-step guidelines for applying the Legends Grain Filler:
1. Ensure the area is clear and clean of any lacquer or finishing products.
2. Use a small, fine, brass bristle brush to “open” the grain by lightly rubbing it over the cue grain. (this is from information they supplied but I would use steel wool believe that would be better for the wood)
3. Apply small amounts of Legends grain filler to the required area of the cue shaft using a small soft cotton cloth. Make sure the grain is fully filled.
4. After 30 seconds, use a new cotton cloth to rub away the excess fillers.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you need a darker finish.
6. Very lightly remove excess filler with super fine 0000 grade wire wool to leave the surface clean and smooth before applying your preferred finish.
We would advise using a wax or oil sealer on the wood after this. Would be using pale boiled linseed oil after the grain filler then the volkan products to finish the shaft.
